"To design is to communicate clearly by whatever means you can control or master."
- Milton Glaser
"What could be better than doing what you love and getting paid for it?"

Jessi Miller naively asked this question of her classmates in her speech at graduation, as if from that moment forward each project would not only be fun it would also be handsomly paid for. Not every job works that way in the real world, sometimes it's what can be done within a tight budget that brings out real creativity. Other times it involves pleasing a design committee that includes the client's wife, mother and 12-year-old. Either way, design isn't always dream work and it certainly doesn't pop out of a computer just because the right software is there. Design is a process that asks questions and offers solutions. Experience and education go a long way towards coming up with solutions.
